Daniel González was born in Argentina in 1963; he now lives and works in Berlin. In 1982 he created Pisquit Sunwear, a provocative and extreme range of limited edition clothing whose first show was held in a cement factory using transsexual models – all this under Argentina’s military dictatorship. In Berlin González founded the Cross Out Project as event producer, creating performances and musical-visual interactive events.
The D.G. Clothes Project brings him back to earlier activities, with its Banner-paintings as meta-advertisements for the project, and one-off items of clothing presented in striking performances. Currently González is working on a public art project entitled Chili Moon Town Tour in collaboration with the Italian artist Anna Galtarossa. Chili Moon Town Tour is a floating, emigrating city, presented last April 24th on the Lago Mayor del Bosque de Chapultepec in Mexico City and soon to be installed in New York’s Central Park.
